Silk'n - Silk'n Glide At Home Hair Removal
First up we have Silk'n Glide, a new compact at home hair removal device which is said to deliver a full body treatment in under 30 minutes. As someone very familiar with at home laser hair removal (I have a Philips Lumea) this is quite some claim - it takes me about 20 minutes to do just the bottom half of both my legs!
The Silk'n Glide uses 'home pulsed light', a patented technology not to be confused with 'Intense Pulsed Light'. Silk'n say its device delivers short pulses of optimum light energy which immediately deactivate the hair follicle. They also claim the device is the first on the market designed to incorporate darker skin tones - Fitzpatrick 4-5 - and is equipped with enough pulses (50,000) not to need replacement cartridges. Elemis - Total Glow Bronzing Moisturisers, Face & Body
Elemis have launched their first ever gradual tan moisturisers. Total Glow Bronzing Body Lotion contains protective antioxidants of green tea extract, as well as elderberry seed and abyssinian essential oils for nourishing and conditioning the skin. Also in the formula is red algae for long-lasting firmness and hydration, plus Vegetan, which has been naturally derived from wheat, to subtly build a natural golden tan to the upper layers of the skin. Elemis say Total Glow Bronzing Body Lotion works to naturally mask the unpleasant aroma often associated with self-tanners, and builds a bronzed glow in 2-3 days. The lotion combines delicate floral notes with uplifting lemon and patchouli oils to capture the mood of summer and leave skin deliciously scented. It is priced at £34.50 for 200ml.
Also launched is a gradual tanner for the face. Total Glow Bronzing Moisturiser also contains green tea extract and Vegetan. It is further formulated with peach, bergamot and orange oil, together with rose and ylang ylang to offer a floral twist and leave skin delicately scented. Key ingredient evodia fruit extract, meanwhile, is said to improve the delivery of nutrients to the skin, boosting luminosity and brightness. Total Glow Bronzing Moisturiser costs £29.50 for 50ml. Éminence Organic Skin Care - Artic Berry Peel & Peptide Illuminating System
Moving away from body prep, but sticking with the theme of summer, my final top pick is a facial peel system launching in June from Éminence Organic Skin Care. The Arctic Berry Peel & Peptide Illuminating System is a three-step at-home solution to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and dark spots. Based on the botanically sourced oligopeptide from hibiscus seed, six natural acids and arctic plants and berries, the system comprises Arctic Berry Enzyme Exfoliant, Arctic Berry Advanced Peel Activator MA10, and Arctic Berry Peptide Radiance Cream.
