NEW LAUNCHES: Xen-Tan, The Body Shop, L’Occitane

I don’t know whether it’s the recent balmy weather, or the fact that I’m feeling a little bit jaded right now and in need of an overseas holiday (somewhere hot and sunny), but as soon as I heard about these three fabulous new beauty launches this week they got me dreaming of Summer.  I want – both Summer and these new products!

Xen-Tan, Capsule Collection – end of May

Xen-Tan is my favourite sunless tanning brand right now - read my 2 Outstandingly Good Tan Fakers post here. Its products are formulated especially for olive skin. Not many are, I’ve discovered, and tanning products that deliver a pinky tint really don’t look that great on complexions such as mine that have a yellow undertone.

Next month sees Xen-Tan launch its first capsule range. The Clean Collection is a line of buildable formulas said to work with your natural pigment (I’ve certainly found that to be the case with Xen-Tan).  Fresh Tanning Mousse (£33.99) is a grapefruit scented (scrummy) self-tanner designed to hydrate skin and fade evenly.  Fresh Face Tan (£20.99) is a lightweight lotion with antioxidants. The final product, Fresh Prep Scrub (£17.99), uses non abrasive grains to loosen dead skin and contains aloe vera to nourish. More on Xen-Tan.

The Body Shop, Expands Vitamin C Line – Just Arrived

The Body Shop was one of those stores that I would walk right past with no desire to pop in. Their products never much inspired me. Then a few months back I read about the launch of their innovative Bouncy Sleeping Mask (reviewed) and everything changed. I revisited The Body Shop and discovered that this was a brand that had upped its game – big time!

After the sleeping mask, I went on to buy a couple of products from the limited edition Smoky Poppy Collection (the fragrance and body oil – both gorgeous), and I'm fond also of the new Fuji Green Tea collection.

This week The Body Shop extended its Vitamin C  line with a glow boosting moisturiser (£16), and an instant glow enhancer (£14). Vit C is brilliant at brightening the complexion and giving it some radiance (oh no, I’m having thoughts of summer again). This particular collection is created with camu camu berry from the Amazonian rainforest, which is said to have 60 times the Vit C power of an orange. I tested both on counter earlier this week - I have my eye on the moisturiser, it seems incredibly hydrating. More on The Body Shop.

L’Occitane Almond Velvet Bodycare Duo – Available Now

L’Occitane barely puts a foot wrong as far as I’m concerned. Their Almond Milk Concentrate (reviewed) still ranks as one of my all-time favourite body lotions (it was voted best cellulite treatment by the respected Beauty Bible).

Just launched this week is a new duo of almond-scented body products, formulated with anti-ageing actives we are more used to seeing in skincare. Almond Velvet Serum is described as a light textured and easily absorbed formula. Almond Velvet Balm, meanwhile, contains ingredients to target five signs of ageing including hyperpigmentation, lines and wrinkles. Priced from £38. More on L’Occitane here.
