Cellulite – Treatment Strategies and Fushi’s Really Good Cellulite Oil

Cellulite. There, I’ve said it! Mere mention of this three syllable word is enough to send a shiver down the spine. We all know what cellulite looks like. But how to be shot of it?

There is no magic silver bullet solution. In fact, experts will tell you there is no cure for cellulite. But you can improve its appearance. Healthy eating, targeted exercise, massage and the use of a good topical oil is what you need. Oh, and a dollop of patience and  perseverance would come in handy too!

What is Cellulite?

In a nutshell it’s fat beneath the skin. It looks bumpy because it pushes against connective tissue on thighs and buttocks. Thin and overweight people can get it, and even men too! Ha ha! Though, men have less body fat than us women, and so are less prone to developing it (the female hormone oestrogen is also thought to play a part). It is often incredibly stubborn - the cellulite that is, just in case you thought I was referring to the male of the species!

Treatment Strategies

Diet:
I’m no dietitian, so I’m not going to detail a healthy eating plan, but we all know good and bad foods. Losing weight will shrink fat cells too, and so should improve the appearance of cellulite if overweight. Drinking plenty of water will flush toxins.

Exercise:
I’ve found squats with weights to be very helpful at improving the appearance of the thighs and buttocks. If you don’t do them, give them a try!

Fushi’s Really Good Cellulite Oil and A Good Massage Tool

I was recently sent a bottle of this award-winning Fushi oil to try. It has been specially formulated to boost and stimulate circulation, thereby helping to improve the appearance of cellulite. It’s 85% organic, 100% natural, cruelty free, and formulated without parabens, PEG, SLS, DEA, TEA and so on.

Key ingredients:

Gotu Kola  - a herb known for circulatory benefits. It’s been infused with other ingredients to triple its strength
Green Coffee Bean oil - stimulating and a diuretic
Wheatgerm oil - vitamin-rich and nourishing
Vitamin E
Sweet Birch - detoxifying
Grapefruit essential oil – cleansing

How to Use

Massage in using circular movements  twice a day for two weeks, then once a day thereafter for maintenance. Always massage towards the heart.

Any good?

I’ve been using the Fushi oil in combination with my acupressure four-wheel wooden massage tool pictured below. I would recommend using a massage aid like this in addition, to maximise results.

This oil is very thick. That’s good - you need something viscous  to work with when you’re massaging firmly. A  rich oil is also more nourishing, and this certainly is that.  My skin definitely feels more toned and smooth where I’ve used this.

The one thing I’m not fond of, though, is the aroma. I can pick up a citrus scent but it’s more medicinal than fresh smelling.  However, given the oil’s performance, the fragrance is something I can overlook.

This is a great oil. But I don’t think relying on one treatment protocol alone is the most effective solution to combating cellulite. But combine a topical with massage, exercise and healthy eating and I’m sure you’ll see an improvement in thigh and buttock dimples before  very long. I know I have!

The Fushi Really Good Cellulite Oil  costs £19.95 for 100ml and is available from Naturisimo here.
