Khadi Ayurvedic Rose Face & Body Oil – A Little Gem You May Not Know About

There are many hidden gems within the skincare sector, products that can be all too easily overshadowed by ones widely stocked on the high street.

This Khadi Ayurvedic rose face and body oil is a fine example of this. It’s gorgeous, ticks ethical boxes and with a rrp of just £11.90 for 100ml, it's a bargain!

Khadi is an organic skincare and haircare brand I’ve never come across before. It’s part of the Pravera group, which also owns Lavera, a natural skincare and cosmetic line I am familiar with.

All Khadi products are based on Ayurvedic formulations. Now this is where things get a bit tricky as I find Ayurvedic quite a difficult concept to understand. I’ll explain it as best I can...

Ayurvedic is the centuries old traditional medicine of India based on the three ‘Doshas’, biological energies (made from earth, wind, fire and water) in the human body that govern our wellbeing. There is Veta (wind), Pitta (fire and water) and Kapha (water and earth). A unique combination of these three is present in everyone one of us.

In Ayurvedic skincare the herbs and oils are chosen to suit the individual constitution and to reduce the Dosha that is most out of line. Are you getting me?

While this rose oil is designed to improve the general overall appearance of the skin, it is said to be especially good for treating scars, pigmentation and sun spots. I’ve said many times that rose is one of my favourite skincare ingredients. Not only does it smell completely awesome, but it’s especially hydrating

Key ingredients:

Palmarosa, Jamrosa and Geranium oils - anti-inflammatory, soothes, promotes cell renewal
Carrot seed oil – antioxidant/natural UV protection
Flax seed oil – softens and soothes
Sappan - gently exfoliates
Manjistha - clears skin, evens skin tone

I’ve tried many rose-based face and body oils, from the cheap as chips to the gold plated. Generally you get what you pay for. But in this case I find it an exceptionally lovely formulation for the money.

It’s very fragrant (it’s all natural with the herbs collected in a sustainable and traditional way by local inhabitants in India). It has a rich dense texture to it and a sublime golden rose colour. It’s a complete all-rounder – use it on your face and all over your body. My hands are really dry at the moment- massaging a load of this into them (it’s cheap, so you can) provides immediate relief.

The Khadi Ayurvedic Rose Face & Body Oil is supplied in a 100ml clear glass liquid dispenser bottle and is part of a wider face and body oil range (there’s also hibiscus, pink lotus and white lily), launching next month at selected health stores and independent pharmacies.

I have spotted this rose one for £7.79 online here but just noticed there’s a £7.90 delivery charge! More on Khadi here.
