Red carpet facials, creams that banish bingo wings, computerised skin health checks and therapeutic massages – just some of the treats you could be sampling at this year’s Anti-Ageing Health & Beauty Show.
Last week, at the Haymarket Hotel in central London, show organisers held a special press preview showcasing treatments some of its key exhibitors will be offering at the 2015 show, taking place 16-17 May at London Olympia.
Those present included:
Harley Street-based Revere Clinics, skincare and nutrition specialists Nu Skin, skincare and wellness clinic Nuriss (founded by TV medic Dr Anita Sturnham), Lloyds Pharmacy (don’t just think prescription dispensing – there’s a major skincare initiative under way), as well as familiar high street skincare brands like Elemis.
I was delighted to get the opportunity to attend last week’s launch event, and also to sample some of the treatments for myself!
Revere Clinics – Red Carpet Facial
A highlight was Revere Clinics' red carpet facial, HydraTite. I was particularly keen to try this as it helps to tighten and lift skin. Skin sag is a big age-related skin concern for many and one of the most difficult to fix.I have yet to find a topical product that delivers ANY lift (some tightening perhaps),and while some home devices can give a small amount of temporary lifting they are never going to compete with a salon treatment. I’ll be posting a full review of my red carpet facial shortly – with pics! More on Revere Clinics here.
Lloyds Pharmacy – Launching First Ever Skincare Range
Now here’s interesting news. It’s never occurred to me to buy skincare from Lloyds Pharmacy before – it’s a chemist right? The place you go to when you’ve a prescription that needs dispensing? Well, that’s true but the 1,500-strong pharmacy chain is having a radical overhaul. In April it’ll be launching its first skincare range, SkinEffect (pic above). It’s an everyday anti-ageing line featuring an anti-water loss complex to prolong hydration. As part of the makeover, Lloyds Pharmacy will also be offering an in-store skin analysis service which will give individual readings on things such as hydration and PH levels, sebum, elasticity and so on. You can see me having mine in the main pic.
If you have a Lloyds Pharmacy near you, it’s definitely worth checking them out to see if they’re going to be one of the 300 stores set to offer the new skincare range and skin analysis services. More on Lloyds Pharmacy here.
Nuriss Skincare and Wellness Clinic – Fade Away those Bingo Wings!
You may know Dr Anita Sturnham as the resident GP on The Alan Titchmarsh show, or perhaps you’ve spotted her on Embarrassing Bodies ‘Live from the Clinic’. She is also the founder of the Nuriss Skincare & Wellness Clinic and recently launched a cream that claims to fade away bingo wings! The Nuriss Bingo-Wing Fade-Away Cream (£65 for 120ml) is said to have ingredients that target and break down fat cells, as well as help prevent new fat deposits forming. It complements in-clinic bingo wing treatment therapy also available at the centre. More on Nuriss here.
Elemis – VIP Facials & Massages
Elemis, which is celebrating its 25th year in the skincare industry, will be offering a break from all the busy show floor action with complimentary treatments in the VIP lounge (note: available to £95 VIP ticket holders only). VIP package details here.I can vouch for the expertise of the Elemis therapists – here’s me above having a deeply relaxing hand and arm massage.
