Advent calendars, pine scented candles and glittery eye shadow palettes… we can’t move for Christmas themed new product launches right now. But amongst them there’s been some lovely non seasonal unveils too. Here’s my pick of both from the past week:
Palette London - Available Now
Have you ever gone to the Dulux counter in Homebase (other DIY stores are available) and asked them to colour match a swatch you’ve brought along with you? Well, you can now do the same thing with... nail polish!
Palette London is a new nail paint service which is offering to match any colour that a customer wants. Prices start at £50 for the pot of varnish. For an additional £25 you can add a base and top coat. It’s pricey and I can’t see how big the pot of customised polish is, but if you’ve been searching in vain for a particular nail colour then why not check out the Palette London offering. MAC Irresistibly Charming and Viva Glamorous – November
MAC’s limited edition Christmas collections Irresistibly Charming and Viva Glamorous both drop on counter in November. The former includes pigments and glitters, and lip mini kits in a riot of purples, pinks, golds, blues and nudes. The latter is taken from the brand’s collaborative collection with Miley Cyrus and features pearly/frosted/shimmery lip sets. Prices start at £20. More on Mac here.
Eau Thermale Avene PhysioLift –Available Now
Avene make really good skincare at a really good mid-range price. My derm often recommends their products to her patients – the formulations are gentle, so great for those with sensitive skin.
The brand has just announced a new anti-ageing line called PhysioLift which looks really interesting. It’s designed to address one of the most common and difficult to tackle problems associated with ageing skin – loss of elasticity. The range includes a day emulsion and cream, a night balm, an eye lift and a wrinkle filler. Prices range between £22 (eye lift) and £29 (wrinkle filler). More on Avene here.
Ilamasqua Equinox Collection – Available Now
The sky at night over a desert is the inspiration for this latest makeup collection from Illamasqua, Equinox. I think the shades and textures (from what I can tell in pics) are totally stunning and they immediately made me think of Christmas and the star that will top our spruce tree.
Particular highlights are a metallic gold liquid eye shadow and palette of four highly pigmented cream to powder shadows (champagne, burnished grey, warm copper and iridescent barely black). Completing the collection is a mascara, lipstick and varnish. Prices range between £12.50 (mascara) and £34 (shadow palette). More on Illamasqua here.
