Wunder2 Wunderbrow – Full and Lush Brows in a Jiffy

When it comes to regretful beauty trends, the pencil thin eyebrow must surely rank top for a good many of us. Hands up those who in their youth plucked away incessantly at their luscious thick brows in order to re-create the sleek look, only to then live to regret it?

Constant plucking damages hair follicles, preventing them from growing back again. My old tweezing habits didn’t cause too much carnage but I have been left with sparse patches and a slightly wonky set of brows. I don’t think I shall ever get over it!

So how do you re-create today’s ‘super brow’ look (yep, it’s still with us) when yours are a million miles away from that? My preferred option is to get a brow gel containing thickening fibres (I don’t think hair growth serums work).

One of the best I’ve discovered is this from Wunder2, the Wunderbrow 1-step Brow Gel. It delivers full and natural-looking brows in a jiffy.

What is it?

It’s a gel containing patented Keratin protein fibres that attach to your own natural hairs to make them look thicker and fuller.  It’s water-, smudge- and transfer-proof and is very easy to apply.

With the brush, coat on sparse spots in short, feathery strokes, in the direction of hair growth. You can apply to the whole brow for a more dramatic look but the gel is dense, so I’d start gradually and build.

It’s very dark and intense when first applied (I’m using brown/black here). It can look a little alarming but don’t panic. While the gel is still wet, use the included spooley brush to shape and groom the brows.  As it dries, the formula takes on a natural powdery look which blends seamlessly with your own hairs. You can then apply more product if needed.

I’ve included before and after pics above to show how the solution works for me. Bear in mind that my brows are quite thick to start with, so I go very lightly as I don’t want to end up with a monobrow or a Groucho Marx pair.

Also, if your brow line falls too short and there are no surrounding hairs for the gel to attach to, you may need to use a pencil to extend the line.

Wunder2 says the colour lasts for days. I haven’t tested that as I prefer to remove mine before every bedtime – you’ll need to use an oil-based remover. There are four colours available: Blonde, Auburn, Brunette and Brown/Black. A tube costs £19.95 and is available at Boots here.
