Dermalogica Daily Cleansing Shampoo and Daily Conditioning Rinse

I try to avoid washing my hair more than twice a week. It’s one bit of my beauty routine that I hate. My hair is long and takes forever to dry, even with a nifty drier. I find the whole rigmarole of washing and drying a total faff!

Then there’s the health of my hair. Will washing it frequently be stripping? Or if the shampoo is on the gentle side, will it have enough ‘oomph’ to actually clean my hair?

But there are times when frequent washing is a must, like when I’m sweating it out in the gym more than usual. Then my mucky mop is just too much for dry shampoo to cope with and only a proper wash will do. I’ve had a few of those occasions recently, prompting me to give this daily shampoo and conditioning duo from Dermalogica a try.

The shampoo

It’s sulphate-free and described as non-stripping, with a robust, foaming lather.  It contains a heap of oils including argan, avocado, coconut, grapefruit, lavender and geranium.

Oh the smell of this. It’s zesty citrus. It’s fresh and invigorating. It smells of ‘clean’. I give a high five to its lathering  prowess too - it does that with minimum effort.

The Conditioner

It’s described as a moisture-rich formula with nourishing ingredients including Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5), grapefruit, lavender and geranium.  The zesty citrus fragrance is also dominant here and the texture is thicker and more gloopy than the shampoo (as you would expect).

Both the shampoo and conditioner are formulated without artificial fragrances, colours or parabens.

Final thoughts

This duo ticks a lot boxes, both in and out of the shower. Fundamentally though it leaves hair feeling clean and soft, with extra body and bounce (a bit like my new gym routines!).

A 250ml bottle of the shampoo costs £19.80 here and 50ml of the conditioner £11.90 here.
