Alchemy Organic Super Blends Sport Elixir And Energise Smoothie Recipe

Prepping my body for exercise and replenishing it just after is something I have only recently started to fully appreciate.

Going to the gym, attending fitness classes, running outside or whatever it is we do to stay fit is all well and good (and it is good!), but we won’t benefit completely unless we look after our bodies at other times too.

Inlight Organic Firm & Tone Oil and Organic Body Oil with Arnica – Summer Body Prep

I choose skincare to meet a particular concern. For example, if my complexion is looking uneven, I’ll buy a formula that treats pigmentation. If it’s feeling dry, I’ll choose something that’s super hydrating.

When it comes to bodycare, I do things differently. Here it’s the ingredients that come first. I adore rose. Yes, it’s very hydrating (so that serves a purpose) but I just love the fragrance. It’s definitely my fondness for scents that prompts me to buy body products. The condition of my skin seems to play second fiddle, and it probably shouldn’t with Summer just around the corner!

Pass the Bucket – I think I’m Going to be Sick!

Oh boy, what a week!  I have spent the past four days in bed, grounded by a virus that has rendered me incapable of doing anything but sleep.

10 Uses For Coconut Oil

If you were stranded on a desert island, what luxury item would you take? I’d take my tub of cold pressed virgin coconut oil – apart from smelling the part on a tropical beach, it’s a multi-talented wonder.

Here are 10 uses for coconut oil:

Sirco Fruit Juices – Getting to the Heart of Things

I suffer from a condition called Raynaud’s. When it strikes (randomly it seems) the ends of my fingers turn white, become numb and feel cold. My hands take on this very weird two-tone appearance. I also get regular migraines.

The two are linked, in as much as they are both to do with poor circulation. They occur when blood vessels collapse, stopping the blood from flowing through them smoothly. I am on prescribed medication for my migraines as they are pretty nasty.

I’ve read a fair amount on both conditions over the years, so have become fairly knowledgeable. But one thing I didn’t know until very recently is that there’s a fruit juice available that promotes healthy blood flow. It’s called Sirco - and it’s widely available in supermarkets.

Key Skin Supplements and What They Do

I first started taking food supplements when I was trying to get pregnant. I wanted my body to be in tip top condition, with the optimum level of nutrients to support a growing baby.

How helpful my Pregnacare capsules were in this process is impossible to measure. But I felt sure enough to continue with supplements post birth, moving on to ones for my skin, hair and nails.

Over the past few years, as I’ve become better educated about my skin and as I noticed it starting to age, I have added more specific supplements to the mix such as hyaluronic acid and collagen –  substances produced naturally by our bodies but which decline with age.

Here is a quick look at key skin supplements and what they do:

Urban Decay Alice Through The Looking Glass – Complete Collection Review, Swatches + Looks

One thing was certain, that the white kitten had nothing to do with it – it was the black kitten’s fault entirely…

If Lewis Carroll’s opening lines to Alice Through The Looking Glass are not enough to get me wanting to see the upcoming movie  (or the mesmerising Disney trailers I’ve been watching online for that matter), then Urban Decay’s new limited-edition collection created in its honour certainly will.

The Alice Palette is one those eagerly-awaited launches that only come around once in a while. The collection is a follow-up to UD’s 2010 Disney collaboration, the Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows, which sold-out within hours on the brand’s website.

I had one of those jaw-dropping moments the first time I set eyes upon it online – story here. I have now got my hands on the complete collection and it is every bit as wondrous and trippy as I had expected.

Yo-Yo Dieting – The Real Reason It Happens And How to Stop it (For Good!)

Dieting. If we’re not currently doing it, we’re sure to know someone who is. Even those seemingly blessed with perfect genes are undoubtedly watching what they eat, choosing  ‘good’ food over ‘bad’, clean eating if you like.

Trying to shift a few pounds can be stressful at the best of times, but a constant cycle of yo-yo dieting can be hellish – stressful, upsetting, and totally demoralising.

Why does yo-yo dieting happen? What can we do to stop it?

The answers may surprise you.
