Valentine’s Day Beauty Gifts

The joy of gifting is the *ahem* giving. That may be but there’s no harm in nudging your other half in the right direction, should you spot a Valentine’s Day gift that’s got your name written all over it. Equally, there’s nothing wrong with spoiling yourself to a present come February 14, if you fancy it!

I was doing a spot of online window shopping this weekend and spied some gorgeous Valentine’s beauty gifts – pah! Who needs chocolates and flowers? Here’s my pick of the bunch:

Shavata Heart Tweezers

Now, ain't these just the cutest? These Swiss made slanted tweezers are said to remove the shortest, finest hairs with ease. They are available in 5 colours – pink, teal, black, white and red of course – and come in a clear case with a 5x magnification mirror, all enclosed in a pouch. They cost £21 and are available here .  I’ve just received a set for review. I can’t wait to test them out! I have challenging eyebrows with hairs of varying lengths and thicknesses.

Jurlique Love Balm Rose

A multi-purpose rose-scented salve to soothe, repair, moisturise and protect skin. Apply it to your nose, hands, feet, elbows, cuticles, legs… and not forgetting lips to make them irresistibly kissable. It costs £10 for 15ml and is available at Space NK here.

Lipstick Queen Look of Love

The idea behind this lipstick and cheek set is based on the assumption that we look more beautiful when we’re in love - there’s a lot of debate about this on the Internet, I discovered!  Brand founder Poppy King explains: "I’ve always been intrigued by how your lips and cheeks naturally take on a rosy glow when you fall in love and so I put this set together so you can recreate that same look."

The set consists of three products to bring out our own natural pink beauty. Start by applying Oxymoron in Honest Politician to cheeks, then on to lips as a base. Follow with a coating or two of sheer Saint Pinky Nude on the lips, then a slick of shimmery Butterfly Ball in Smitten.  Priced £40 and available at Feelunique here.

Clinique Kiss it Better Set

Launched yesterday (1st Feb) at House of Fraser is this hydrating essentials set from Clinique. It’s a charity product – 50% of sales will be donated to the Kiss It Better appeal, run by the Great Ormand Street Hospital Children’s Charity.  It’s the 11th year running that Clinique has supported the campaign, which raises funds for research into childhood cancer treatment. The set features Chubby Stick Baby Tint Moisturising Lip Colour Balm in Budding Blossom and Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief, housed inside a purse decorated with a touch of pink and the Kiss it Better heart. It costs £20. House of Fraser here.

Lush Valentine’s Day Collection

Lush has brought out a whole bunch of Valentine’s Day products. They’re already in shops, so you may have already spotted or even bought them? They include love themed soaps, bubble bars, bath bombs, scrubs and shower gels.  There are gift sets too, including ‘I Only Have Eyes for You’, which contains make-up and skincare.  Prices start at £3.25. Check out the full range here.

Rose Petal Soap Valentines Gift – Not On The High Street

There isn’t much detail on the website about these soap petals (above, but not in main pic), other than to say they are rose scented, but I do think this a very pretty gift. The petals come in a clear heart-shaped box, hand-tied with a satin red bow. The gift is supplied by Made With Love Designs and is available for £7.50 (plus £2.75 delivery) via Not On The High Street here.
