New Launches I’m Craving - By Terry, REN, ecoTOOLS and Sally Hansen

Just when you think you’ve got a bunch of products in your skincare stashes and makeup bags that meet all your beauty needs, along comes a clutch of new ones that make you want to go grab your purse, leg it to the high street (or computer if you prefer to online shop) and have a splurge!

These are the four products topping my ‘Beauty Most Wanted’ list right now.

By Terry, Terrybly Densiliss Foundation

Space NK make-up artist Amy-Alice Thomas applied this as part of my recent in-store makeover (post). It’s one of the new generation of foundation/serum hybrids. It controls wrinkles (in theory) via the serum, and provides full coverage with a natural matte finish via the fluid foundation.

I loved this at the time of the makeover and recently received a small sample, which has totally reinforced my fondness for it. It feels so light on the skin, yet covers every imperfection to leave it looking flawless and youthfully dewy. It’s pricey at £76 for 30ml but oh my goodness is it good! It’s available now here.

REN Wake Wonderful Night-Time Facial

Launching in June is this overnight treatment from REN. One of my all-time favourite masks is REN’s Glycolactic Radiance Renewal and this reminds me very much of that, in an overnight package - with extras!

It’s a three-phase treatment. Phase one exfoliates/brightens via an acid/enzyme complex; phase two re-energises the skin with glycogen and magnesium; phase 3 uses sodium lactate to gradually raise skin PH. The result? In theory (that word again), our skin will be brighter, more luminous, refined and even-toned.

I love the sound of this. It has been getting a massive thumbs up in pre-launch reviews. Roll on June (it will launch at Space NK first, then globally from September), priced £32. More on REN.

ecoTOOLS Ultimate Air Dryer Hair Brush

I have long thick hair that is frizz prone and porous. It takes forever and a day to dry, even with a decent hairdryer! So this just launched ecoTOOLS brush has really caught my eye.

The Ultimate Air Dryer Hair Brush is said to dry hair 40% faster than a conventional brush, with less heat damage and a faster prep time. Plus I love the brand’s green credentials: ecoTOOLS hair brushes have bamboo handles, repurposed aluminium ferrules and cruelty-free bristles. The brush is available now for £10.99 here.

Sally Hansen 18K Gold Treatment Collection

I rediscovered the joys of manicuring and painting my nails when I launched the blog. But in the past few weeks my nails have become quite brittle and have started to split, forcing me to file them down to a length shorter than I like. Good timing then from Sally Hansen, with this new 18K gold 'nail strengthening' treatment collection.

There’s a new Nail Hardener that is said to lock in moisture and strengthen nails. It combines real 18K gold with peptides and amino acids, known to promote healthy nail growth. The complex is said to dry within 60 seconds, and create a shatter-proof shield so nails can grow longer and stronger.

There’s also an 18K Cuticle Eraser which features an applicator tip with a nibbed exfoliator and built-in cuticle pusher. Again it combines real gold, this time with natural humectants to trap moisture and nourish cuticles, as well as quartz particles to remove excess skin.

The range costs from £7.95 but availability seems a bit of an issue. It's currently out of stock at Superdrug, and not on sale yet elsewhere, apart from US sites.  More info on the Sally Hansen site here.
