The Naturisimo Wellness Box – Putting Paid to My Not-So-Healthy Habits!

I’m not sure if someone is trying to tell me something, or if I’m detecting vibes of a growing trend. But over the past few weeks I’ve received a bunch of emails telling me about the launch of new wellness products.

Now, I really do look after my skin, and I’m as much a fitness fanatic as I am a beauty junkie. But it’s fair to say that when it comes to healthy eating things go a little awry.

My diet on the whole is pretty good – I get my 5-a-day at least twice over. But I have a terrible weakness for anything containing a whiff of sugar. Curly Wurly’s (Ok hardly a whiff, more a complete sugar stick), Snickers ice cream bars and Marks & Spencer’s iced buns – I love all and eat them aplenty.

I’m also rather fond of swigging back the Pepsi Max (contains no sugar but a sugar substitute that many would argue is just as bad), and I still cannot bring myself to drink water (sorry New Year’s Resolutions).

I’m acutely aware that what we put inside our mouth has consequences for what’s outside it, ie our skin, hair and nails. Those emails arriving over the past few weeks got me thinking more about this delicate relationship. And when this new Naturisimo discovery box arrived in the post I decided, ‘that’s it, time to turn over a new leaf and kick the bad habits into touch’ – well, at least some of them!

Inside this little black box is a specially curated collection of natural and organic products designed to boost our wellbeing. There’s skincare (a face mask, relaxing bath soak, hydrating lip balm, and a radiance-boosting exfoliator), as well as healthcare (superfruit and superleaf powders to mix in with your breakfast smoothie or yoghurt.

Madara Brightening AHA Peel Mask (12.5ml)

It’s 99% natural and contains lavender floral water, konjac root extract, quince and elderflower.  Silky texture, non irritative (peels can be), and left my skin super soft.

Ila Bath Soak Pure Relaxation (50ml)

Blended with purest oils of calming vetivert and petitgrain and softening apricot to nourish and soothe. My bath time was - bliss!

Fushi Organic Hydrating Lip Balm (10g – full size)

Avocado and geranium leave lips soft and nourished, while peppermint gives an instant cooling sensation.  Full review here.

Aduna Baobab Superfruit Powder Sachet (4.5g)

A fibre filled raw wholefood, a rich source of vitamin C, calcium, potassium and thiamine - Baobab has one of the highest antioxidant capacities of any fruit in the world.  This powder easily mixed into my natural yogurt, and added a subtle hint of fruity flavour.

Aduna Moringa Superleaf Powder Sachet (4.5g)

Moringa is one of the most nutrient-dense foods on the planet, a rich source of plant protein and high in ten essential vitamins and minerals. Consume as above.

Living Nature Skin Revive Exfoliant (2ml)

Contains natural and gentle microbeads, and a cleanser to aid exfoliation.

The Naturisimo Wellness Discovery Box costs £9.95 (delivered) and is available here. Plus, Over Easter the retailer is offering 15% off throughout the store - enter code 'EASTER' at checkout.
