My pick of the week’s beauty musings, delivered in bite-sized form…
1. #MACMakeupArtCosmetics – Cosmo
If you’re a MAC fan you will probably have picked up news this week that the brand will next January unveil its biggest (probably) collection to date. Called #MACMakeupArtCosmetics, it’s the fruits of a collab with three legendary make-up artists: Kabuki, James Kaliardos and Diane Kendal – credited with creating some of the most memorable catwalk trends. The *50* products dropping will include a silver lipstick! Cosmo story
here.
2. The ‘00s’ Beauty Trends that are Making a Comeback – Grazia
In April Marie Claire was celebrating the return of iconic 90s beauty products. Less than two months later and we have Grazia welcoming the revival of certain noughties trends. Well, I guess ‘recycling’ is meant to be an efficient use of resources! So prepare yourself for lob haircuts, pink eyeshadow, crimping (oh please no!) and matte brown lipstick, among other things. More

3. The Thermal Highlighting Trend – Cosmo
From the return of old trends to the adaption of a fairly new one: hello, thermal highlighting. What is it? It’s basically the rainbow hair trend applied to the face (think electric hues of thermal body scans and you’ve pretty much got it). Very bright neon makeup is used to highlight areas of the face to create a rather unworldly look. Unworldly maybe but it’s striking, and it’s got heads turning (or more precisely fingers clicking hearts) on Instagram, where naturally the trend has taken hold. It’s back to Cosmo again for this one
here.
4. These Are The Most Popular Men’s Hairstyles in 2016 – Huffington Post
With Father’s Day just around the corner, it seems entirely appropriate to make mention of this post in the Huff Post – OK, any excuse to run pics of Bradley Cooper and Chris Hemsworth! The styles are split into three categories: short length, medium and long. The barnet’s of Bradly Cooper and Chris Hemsworth both feature, as do those of Justin Timberlake and Ashton Kutcher. More styles
here.
5. 10 Amazing Hairstyles for Thick Hair – Marie Claire
Sticking with hair it’s over to Marie Claire for some useful style advice for those of us with unmanageable thick locks (though mine is seemingly getting thinner as I get older!). I used to complain enormously about my tameless mop when I was younger (hair straighteners, I love you!). Styles to try include quick fixes like tucking behind your ear (creates a dual texture look), to more costly ones like ombre where the lightness at the ends will make hair seem less heavy. More tips
here.
