New: Temple Spa, Harvey Nichols, Selfridges, L'Occitane, By Terry

There are fewer than 90 days until Christmas. Yikes! Given the plethora of Christmas beauty gifts launching just now, that shouldn't be all that surprising. Indeed, two new advent calendars feature in my pick of the best new product launches this week - it’s been a while since I last did one of these round-up posts! But I start with a new Temple Spa skincare range.

Temple Spa – Red Carpet Skin Therapy Miracles

I was totally wowed by Temple’s Spa Eye Truffle when I tested it in February, review here. Next Friday (10 October) sees Temple Spa launching a brand new skincare range, Red Carpet Skin Therapy Miracles. This complexion fixing line of products includes a glycolic resurfacing peel, an ‘instant’ wrinkle filler, concealers and an ‘instant’ radiance booster.  A trio of nail polishes is also launching as part of the range – in red, black and lilac (judging by the picture). Pricing has yet to be revealed. More info here.

Harvey Nichols & Selfridges – Advent Calendars

Selfridges calendar (L) and Harvey Nichols (R)

We’re going to be a bit spoilt for choice when it comes to beauty advent calendars this year. Barely a week goes by without a new one launching. OK, perhaps that’s a slight exaggeration but there does seem to be more of them around than ever before –  Elemis, L’Occitane, and Jo Malone are all doing calendars this year.

Joining the fray is Harvey Nichols, which has announced a collaboration with Glossybox to launch its limited edition Christmas box. Brands featured (I’ll refrain from revealing actual products in case you’d rather not know) include Laura Mercier, NARS, Rodial and Dermalogica. At £30 (+p&p) the Harvey Nichols box is a bargain in my opinion – products are collectively worth over £150! I suspect it will sell out extremely quickly. Available from 17 November at glossybox.co.uk.

Selfridges has also launched its 2014 calendar. Brands featured include Lancome, Yves Saint Laurent, Kiehl’s and Victor & Rolf. The Selfridges calendar is always massively popular, though it has stiffer competition this year. Also at £85.50, it’s pricey compared to the Harvey Nics.  You can sign up for it here.

L’Occitane Whipped Shea Butter Collection

To celebrate 25 years of using fair trade shea butter from women’s co-operatives in Burkina Faso, L’Occitane has announced a new bodycare collection. The Whipped Shea Butter line includes shower foam (£14), hand cream (£8) and body cream (£18). The hand cream (pictured) features a star shaped nozzle to create the look of Chantilly cream when product is squeezed from the tube – nice touch! The collection will be available later this month at stores nationwide. More info here.

By Terry – Terrybly Densiliss Collection

Following last year’s launch of Terrybly Densiliss Foundation, By Terry has now expanded the range to include a primer (£78), a matt finish concealer (£44), a compact (£65) and a blush (£52), as well as four new shades of the foundation. By Terry is perhaps my favourite make-up brand. Yes the products are a little pricey but the formulas come with a heap of anti-ageing ingredients to lift and plump, as well as protect and repair skin. A particular favourite of mine is Touche Expert Advanced concealer. The new range is available now at Space NK here, and will arrive at Harrods later in the year.
