Rarely am I happier than when soaking in a tub scented with Revive Evening, Inner Strength, or Support Lavender & Peppermint - to name but three of my favourite blends (reviewed).
Given the love it’s perhaps surprising that I have never before tried anything from Aromatherapy Associates’ bodycare collection. I have clearly been missing something!
Recently I was kindly sent the Aromatherapy Associates Renewing Rose Massage & Body Oil to sample. It’s a triumph! Its texture is rich, its colour golden and its aroma every bit as enchanting and powerful as the bath and shower oils that I have grown to cherish.
If you’re going to deep massage your skin, the oil you use needs to be rich and viscous in my book. There’s no point having oil so thin that it sinks straight in to your skin – you’ve got to have something to work with. This oil has texture nailed on for body massage.
Renewing Rose Massage & Body Oil comes in a semi- transparent glass bottle and is pump dispensed. Two pumps are ample for each one of my legs, and one for each arm. I’m 5ft 2in so petite (I mention this in case your limbs are Amazonian and so may need more).
I’ve been using the oil nightly for about two weeks, just after dry brushing. Some users have attributed this oil with helping to reduce their cellulite. I don’t have that problem but if I’m not careful and neglect my body I do get rough patches of skin on the top part of my legs and I haven’t had any of that recently. My skin is definitely smoother and more hydrated.
I want to finish by talking about the aroma. While texture is important, I don’t like putting anything on my body that doesn’t smell good. Well, as you would expect from Aromatherapy Associates, the fragrance here is delightful - a gorgeous blend of rose, neroli, geranium and evening primrose florals. As well as sweet smelling, these oils are what give the product its skin hydrating and nourishing qualities.
Aromatherapy Associates Renewing Rose Massage & Body Oil costs £41 for 100ml. You can buy it here.
