Me With Beauty Bible Authors Sarah (left) and Jo (right) |
The Beauty Bible rolled in to Tunbridge Wells on Saturday night, for the final leg of a 6-date tour of selected Fenwick stores up and down the country. The events were being held to toast the launch of authors Sarah Stacey and Josephine Fairley’s latest tome, The Ultimate Natural Beauty Bible.
I was lucky enough to attend Saturday’s finale (promoted via You Magazine), as a fully paid up £12 ahead VIP guest. Was I excited to be going? You could say. In the weeks leading up to the evening I had been marking off the days on my wall calendar - how sad is that! Now the night of toasting was finally here.
From the moment I arrived to the point where I left with a bag full of Beauty Bible recommended products, it was a slickly organised night of utter pampering. The Fenwick staff were impeccable, the beauty consultants friendly and helpful, and Sarah and Jo absolutely gorgeous and charming.

Shortly after arriving at 6pm we were ushered into Fenwick’s newly opened restaurant and offered canapés and Prosecco (soft drinks also available and no single glass rationing!), while Sarah and Jo gave a brief introduction to their much coveted Beauty Bible books. We were then handed a card with a list of our VIP pampering treatments for the evening, featuring no less than 20 different brands from Aveda to YSL (with Bobbi Brown, Dior, Kiehl’s and MAC among those along the way).
Having thought ahead that it was going to be impossible for everyone to get through all 20 treats during the two-hour event, Fenwick told us that we would be able to cash in any unused treatments at the store later, up until 30th April. Phew, that was a relief. I had just had a rather disturbing premonition of 70-odd ‘VIPs’ stampeding their way through the store’s rather grand beauty department in an attempt to be first in line!
So, off we all went, in an orderly fashion, visiting one brand concession after another, having our treats. I started off with a lovely hand massage courtesy of Liz Earle and her sumptuous Superskin products. Next I saw Kiehl’s for a skin assessment, a product consultation and a take home sample of their Midnight Recovery Concentrate.
I then moved on to ‘experience the world of Chanel’, where I was taken through Ultra Correction Lift and Le Lift Crème Riche. I left with a sample of the rather divine former. Next it was off to Clarins for a taster of their hot stones massage. Clarins were also very generously handing out this rather lovely red branded bag containing 15ml HydraQuench Cream-Mask and its Make-Up Palette.

Oh no! Unbelievably it’s almost 8! Doesn’t time fly when you’re not crossing off days on a wall calendar any more! Just time then to visit Dior for ‘Be Flawless in a Flash’, and indeed after their experts got to work on me with their Skinflash primer and Airflash spray foundation I left looking… well, let’s just say far more presentable than I did when I arrived.
I spent the final few minutes of the evening racing around trying to find Jo and Sarah for a book signing and the obligatory photo of me with the evening’s hosts. Authors found and PR kindly took the photo – thank you Sharon Whiting.
Two hours up, event about to close, and I had got through 5 of my 20 treats. So, that leaves me with 75% still to enjoy before the end of April, and I can take a friend along with me too, to share the rest of my Beauty Bible treats experience. Plus, I still have all those amazing Beauty Bible award winners inside the goody bag to enjoy at home. Just look at what we got! All included in the cost of the £12 ticket. Bargain!
It really was a fantastic evening. Fingers crossed they repeat the tour for the next Bible edition. If they do, I suggest booking tickets, pronto!
