June’s Empties – And Favourites

How quickly I use up beauty products sometimes spooks me. I get to the mid-way point in any calendar month and think ‘oh, this month’s empties is going to be meagre’. But by the time I come to do the write it up my little carrier bag of empties is bulging!

And so to June. I used up 17 products last month, almost half (eight) skincare, five body, three hair and one makeup.

Elemis, Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm. I love everything about this balm – the smell, the texture, the way it cleanses, even the price. £40 for 105g here.

Biologique Recherché, Lait Vip O2 Oxygenating Cleansing Milk. I got this to take home after a BR facial. They’re bespoke and out of this world. The skincare is all cold formulated. Reviewed here.

Omorovicza, Queen of Hungary Mist. An incredibly light alcohol-free hydrating mist. It’s easy to see why Omorovicza is such a cult brand. £48 for 100ml here.

Caudalie, Divine Oil. Light face oil I buy time and time again. I find it similar to the more expensive Nuxe formula. £27 for 100ml here.

Pixi, Makeup Fixing Mist. I didn’t find this hydrating though it is supposed to be. I didn’t find it particularly great at fixing makeup either. Plus it contains alcohol. I won’t be buying again.

Balance Me, Instant Lift Pore Minimiser. New launch from one of my fave natural beauty brands. Reviewed here.

Sisley, Express Flower Gel. Hydrating, toning and firming mask. Great for topping up moisture levels in hot weather and after flying. But it’s from Sisley, so pricey.  £72 for 60ml here.

ZO Skin Health, Offects Hydrating Cleanser. I had to stop using this as it caused the skin around my eyes to itch and redden. I rarely have reactions to skincare and I’ve heard some great things about Obagi formulations (of which this is one), so this was very disappointing.

Body, Manuka Honey Body Wash. I’m a big fan of - fab formulations and keen pricing. I’m not quite sure why I bought this though as I don't like the smell of honey! If you do then buy it at Holland and Barrett for £2.99 for 75ml here.

Cowshed, Moisturising Hand Cream. A perfectly pleasant hydrating formula containing grapefruit and bitter orange, but I have so many other favourites when it comes to hand creams.

Champneys, Mediterranean Bliss Shimmering Body Oil. The first bottle I’ve polished off this Summer – there’ll be many more to come! Love it, love it, love it! Reviewed here.

Rituals Zensation, Organic Rice Milk & Cherry Blossom. A gel that turns into foam as you massage into your skin. I like the texture and wake-me-up fragrance here. I have a feeling the cap was missing from my can though? If not it needs one.  £4.50 for 50ml here.

Caudalie, Divine Legs. Another Summer must-have. If fake tan application scares you, this is fool-proof. Reviewed here.

Batiste Dry Shampoo, Fruity & Cheeky Cherry. My fave budget dry shampoo. The fact I got through 2 small cans is alarming though. Either I need to wash my hair more often or buy a bigger size! Batiste is one of my Summer Holiday beauty heroes – reviewed here.

Philip Kingsley, Body Building Shampoo. You can’t really go wrong with Philip Kingsley products. Effective and kind to hair.  £18 for 250ml here.

Oxygenetix, Oxygenating Foundation. Billed as the most hydrating foundation on the market – so a great choice for the gym. Reviewed here.
