The Emma Lomax Gym SOS Kit - For Those Training Day Emergencies!

Have you ever got to the gym only to discover that you’ve left your headphones in your top drawer at work (I admire anyone who can work-out without banging tunes pumping in their heads)?

Or perhaps it’s a hair bobble that you’ve forgotten to pack (long hair thrashing a sweaty face is not a good look conducive to serious training!)? Or maybe it’s the thought of smelly armpits and no deodorant that really gives you the frights?

If any of the above sound familiar, then I have the perfect answer: the Emma Lomax SOS kits.  The handmade bag and accessories label recently launched a range of kits to save us from a variety of sticky situations, and they are super cute!

The kit I have here is the Gym SOS, but Emma has created over 20 themed kits packed full of emergency essentials like plasters, deodorant wipes, emery boards and, yes, even tampons!  The SOS Festival Kit is the latest to join the line-up – it’s currently sold out online! – and there’s even a Wedding SOS Kit to save your blushes should something go wrong on your ‘big day’.

As well as the kits themselves, there are refills available, enabling you to re-stock once the emergency rations have all gone. Prices start at £2.50 for a replacement set of three pink and silver hair ties.

Inside the kit that I have here is a collection of products you might need in an emergency at the gym:
Pair of trainer socks
Padlock
Batiste dry shampoo
Hair brush
LA Fresh deodorant wipe sachet
Anti-bacterial wipe sachet
Plaster
Hair tie
Pair of earphones

All the items are neatly packed inside a transparent bag, making it easy to locate what you want. The bag is also small, measuring just H8cm x W12 x D6 – basically, it’s dinky enough to grab with one hand.

The pink trainer protectors are easy to pop on (pink goes with most of my workout clothes) and fit my size 5 feet (the thing about socks is that they stretch to fit a fair number of different shoe sizes). The headphones may not be of Sennheiser quality, but they give a perfectly decent sound.

Batiste is still the best budget buy dry shampoo around (to my mind). The hair brush, meanwhile, is a clever clamshell design with pop up bristles on one side and a mirror on the other. I will also briefly mention the padlock, as it’s important to feel that your belongings are safely tucked away in your locker whilst doing chest presses in the weights room. It’s 20mm, made from solid brass, and comes with three keys.

These Emma Lomax kits are hugely cute with their embroidered fun motif on the front (as you can see the Gym SOS Kit has a dumbbell), and the contents have been carefully thought out. They would make a perfect gift for a friend or family member, or even as a present to yourself!

Prices start at £14, with the Gym SOS Kit costing £24. You can check out the full range here.
